As this weekend’s Platinum Jubilee celebrates the 70 year-long reign of Queen Elizabeth II, Charlie Elizabeth Culverhouse took a deep dive into The Crown’s depiction of the monarch’s journey to the throne.  

Netflix’s smash hit drama The Crown has reached over 73 million households worldwide, but has also faced some criticism for spells of inaccuracy. Creator Peter Morgan has admitted that he makes parts up to add to the drama, and the most recent season was labelled ‘cruel’ in its depiction of Prince Charles by Royal biographer Penny Junor.
