Fans flocked to Nottingham’s Old Market Square to celebrate with their heroes after Nottingham Forest won promotion to the Premier League after 23 years.

The Market Square was a sea of red as nearly 40,000 fans gathered to cheer on the team as they appeared on the Council House balcony.

The Square started to fill up by 11AM as the fans from all around Nottinghamshire, young and old, could not contain their excitement.

The win was an unforgettable one for the city, and the Council House hadn’t seen the trophy being held up since 1998 when they won the First Division.

“To all the Nottingham Forest supporters. welcome back to the Premier League!” said manager, Steve Cooper, to the ecstatic crowd.
